Infants, Children & UM

Infants

An infant as young as 7 days can travel on Bearskin Airlines flights. One infant (under the age of two years) may travel at no additional cost provided they are accompanied by a paying adult passenger and are seated on the adult's lap for the duration of the flight. Please bring identification for your infant, as it will be checked. This can be in the form of a birth certificate or birth registry. Photocopies are acceptable. Passengers travelling with infants may check-in a car seat, stroller or playpen at no additional charge. Please note only one infant is permitted per adult passenger.

If you have a collapsible or foldable stroller, you are allowed to keep it until boarding the aircraft. Once at the gate, an agent will take the stroller and store it in the baggage compartment. When you deplane, an agent will return the stroller to you at the aircraft door.

Children
A child aged 2-11 must purchase a seat on the aircraft. We do not offer discounts for children.

Unaccompanied Minors
Children aged 5-11 may travel alone on flights operated by Bearskin Airlines but it is mandatory to use the unaccompanied minor services, which include being escorted by customer service agents and/or flight crew. The cost of this service is an additional $75 each way.

The UM service must be requested at the same time the child's flight is booked by the parent/guardian. It is possible to book an unaccompanied minor online, but it is extremely important that you call Bearskin to add pick-up and drop-off contact information to the reservation, to pay the fee, and to speak with an agent who will make sure your booking is correct and complete. If we do not have the required information, we cannot allow the child to fly. You will be given details about our special services and what procedures are involved when a child is unaccompanied. The UM service charge must be paid when you book the flight.

Please note - we take custody of your child at flight departure. We require that the person who delivers the child to the airport remain with them at the airport until the flight is boarded and up to 10 minutes AFTER the flight has departed.

At airports that have security hold rooms, the parent/guardian will be given authority by the Bearskin counter to escort the Unaccompanied Minor through the screening process and remain with them in the secure area until the flight has departed.

Restrictions
Your child will not be booked on the last flight of the day and connections to flights operated by other airlines are not allowed.
