All passengers must wear a face covering during a flight (unless a certified medical condition exists that prevents them from using one). Medical masks are not required but accepted.

A non-medical mask or face covering with an exhalation valve or vent, a non-medical mask or face covering made with mesh or lace fabric, a neck gaiter, a bandana, or a face shield are not acceptable.  All other non-medical masks are accepted.

Face Covering Requirements for Air Travellers

The Government of Canada is directing that all travellers (with limited exceptions) must have a removable non-medical mask or face covering large enough to cover their mouth and nose during their travel through Canadian airports and in-flight.  This directive will take effect on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 12:00 pm EDT.

Passengers must bring their own non-medical mask or face covering.  Passengers who do not have mandatory face covering will not be allowed to travel. Please note that these coverings do not need to be medical masks. Any face covering including a scarf or similar item is acceptable. Please refer to the current Public Health Agency of Canada’s guidance on face coverings.

At a minimum, travellers will be asked to wear the non-medical mask or face covering:
·        at airport screening checkpoints;
·        during the flight when they cannot physically distance from others, including at all times when they are 2 metres or less from another person, except another occupant of the person’s private home; or
·        as directed by an official of the air operator, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, a Canada Border Services Agency officer, or a Canadian public health official.

It is important that during these times of change we respond quickly while ensuring we continue to serve our valued customers safely and reliably.

While the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for the general population in Canada, we would like to share with you some of the proactive steps Perimeter Aviation has implemented to ensure that we are emphasizing the health and safety of our customers.

Passengers intending to travel on scheduled flights are subject to screening until further notice. Perimeter will not transport a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 on a scheduled flight. Thank you for your understanding.

Protecting our customers from the risk of infection by communicable diseases has always been part of our safety protocols.  Perimeter Aviation rigorously adheres to guidance from all relevant health authorities and follows best demonstrated practices in the prevention and handling of communicable diseases in the air travel industry.

As such Perimeter Aviation has implemented additional sanitation procedures for our aircraft and public areas to ensure they meet or exceed all guidelines provided by PHAC. Surfaces such as airport counter, aircraft seats, tray tables, armrests, lavatories, etc. are thoroughly wiped down and treated with a high-grade disinfectant similar to those used in health care facilities. As per PHAC guidelines and other resources, coronaviruses do not survive on soft materials such as head rests, seat covers and carpets.

On board our aircraft and at our check-in counters, Perimeter Aviation will be maintaining supplies of hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes. We have also implemented changes to our inflight service offerings including the removal of all non-essential reading material from our seatback pockets.

Perimeter Aviation is committed to doing all we can to provide the safest transportation possible in all aspects of our operation.  We will continue monitoring recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada and will take additional action as required.

Sincerely,
Nick Vodden
